We’re looking for two new members of staff to join our team in Cardiff.
Women’s Advice Worker
21 hours a week
Salary: £25,215 pro rata
One year contract
Funded by the Lloyds TSB Foundation, this post will provide specialist, confidential and independent one-to-one advice and support to refugee and asylum-seeking women and will organise group activities for women to share information and reduce isolation.
The post-holder must be a skilled and experienced advice worker who can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the needs and entitlements of asylum-seeking and refugee women.
Children’s policy officer
35 hours a week
Salary: £29,418 pro rata
Up until 1 December 2010 (covering secondment) with possibility of extension
Funded by The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, this post will engage policy-makers and statutory service providers to promote the needs and entitlements of asylum-seeking and refugee children. In particular the post-holder will focus on improving policy and practice in Wales for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children who have difficulty proving that they are minors and not adults.
The post-holder must be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the needs and entitlements of asylum-seeking and refugee children, write policy briefing papers and negotiate effectively in high level meetings.
Both jobs are based in Cardiff with a remit to provide expert support to colleagues in the 4 dispersal areas in Wales. Closing date for both posts is Monday 23rd August 2010. For application forms and further details please email us.
